Dunes Masonic Lodge outing Sunday

The Dunes Masonic Lodge will hold its golf outing Sunday at Robbinhurst Golf Club, 383 W. 875 North. The cost is $85 per golfer, which includes greens fee, half cart, lunch at the ninth hole, and an awards banquet at the Dunes Lodge No. 741. Tee sponsorships are available for $250 per hole. Studebaker Classic Monday

PADS annual outing Monday

CHICAGO HEIGHTS | South Suburban Public Action to Deliver Shelter's 13th annual golf outing will take place Monday at Glenwoodie. Registration is at 9:30 a.m.; a putting contest is at 10 a.m.; the shotgun start is at 11 a.m., and the awards buffet banquet is at 4:30 p.m. There will be a hole-in-one "Winner's Choice" prize of a trip for two, valued at $10,000. Fall Junior Golf League at Cedar Creek

CEDAR LAKE | The Fall Junior Golf League at Cedar Creek Family Golf Center, 10483 W. 109th Ave., Cedar Lake, will run on Tuesdays from Sept. 6 through Oct. 25. Cost is $60 for ages 10-17 (nine holes on the course; tee times at 4 p.m.); and $40 for ages 5-9 (one hour of play starting at 4 p.m. -- parents must stay on the property the entire time). Creekside programs available in August

VALPARAISO | Golf programs for both adults and children will be available in August at Creekside Golf and Training Center.

Swing classes run from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday (chipping and woods) and Aug. 20 (putting and irons). Class size is limited to six. A three-hole scramble follows each clinic. Cost is $50 per session. Monday morning clinics will run from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday (putter savvy), Aug. 22 (power of triangles in the swing) and Aug. 29 (understanding and eliminating the slice). Cost is $15. Adult snap shots will run from 2 to 3 p.m. Aug. 17 (bunkers: greenside and fairway) and Aug. 24 (swing path drills). Cost is $15.

Lil' Tigers is open to children ages 3 to 5. It will run from 1 to 1:45 p.m. every Saturday. Cost is $15 a class. An accompanying adult plays for free. Linksters is open to ages 6 to 8 and will run from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Cost is $15 per class. Target classes are for ages 9 to 11. They will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $30 a class. First Tee is open to anyone ages 6 to 13. The will classes run from 2 to 4 p.m. every Saturday through Sept. 3. Cost is $100 for the entire session or $20 per class. The LPGA Girls Golf Club is open to ages 7 to 17. The next event will run from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 17. Golf classes for home-schooled students ages 7 to 13 will run from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Aug. 23.

Ping Demo Day will run from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 4.

Chicago-area courses in World's Largest Golf Outing

CHICAGO | Thirteen Chicago-area golf courses will participate in the "World's Largest Golf Outing" on Aug. 18 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, which purpose is to raise awareness and to enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other, and to provide programs and services to meet their needs.

Participating courses include Ochard Valley Golf Course (Aurora), Billy Caldwell Golf Course (Chicago), Highland Woods Golf Course (Hoffman Estates), George W. Dunne National Golf Club (Oak Forest), Edgebrook Golf Course (Chicago), Whisper Creek Golf Club (Huntley), Joe Louis Golf Course (Riverdale), Burnham Woods Golf Course (Burnham), Indian Boundary Golf Course (Chicago), White Mountain Golf Park (Tinley Park), River Oaks Golf Course (Calumet City), Meadowlark Golf Course (Hinsdale) and Chick Evans Golf Course (Morton Grove).

Patriot's Day Outing Sept. 4

VALPARAISO | The inaugural Patriot's Day Golf Outing takes place at 2 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Course at Aberdeen. Proceeds from the event go to Folds of Honor, which raises monies for families of fallen military personnel in either the Iraq or Afghanistan campaigns. CROWN POINT | The USW/Leon Lynch Career Development Program will host the second annual Leon Lynch Learning Center Golf Outing on Sept. 11 at Summertree. All proceeds will go to the Tino Fulimeni Scholarship Fund, which helps children and grandchildren of steelworkers. DK Classic set for Sept. 11

VALPARAISO | The DK Classic golf outing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at Forest Park Golf Course. The event is a fundraiser for former Valpo athlete Darren Kahl, who suffered a spinal injury in 2008. Proceeds are used for rehabilitation expenses as well as supplies and adaptive equipment that help Kahl perform activities of daily living. Cost is $70 per golfer, which includes golf, cart, drinks and food. A silent auction with music and drinks will take place throughout the day in the clubhouse. Support the Shrine outing Sept. 16

SCHERERVILLE | The inaugural Golf Classic to benefit the Shrine of Christ's Passion will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Briar Ridge Country Club. The outing will include three flights. Winners of each flight will receive their own large memory at The Shrine of Christ's Passion -- more than a $5,000 value -- as well as other prizes. Cost is $300 per player, which includes golf with cart, gourmet lunch and dinner, all beverages on and off the course, and premium gifts.
