Adult volleyball at H-F Sports Complex

HOMEWOOD | Adult volleyball will be available at the H-F Sports Complex, 18211 Aberdeen St., this fall.

Drop-in men's volleyball will be on Wednesdays from 7 to 10 p.m. starting Sept. 4. Cost is $5 per person. Co-Rec Volleyball will be on Fridays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 6 to Feb. 21. Team fee is $268 for residents and $368 for non-residents. Women's Volleyball will be on Mondays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 9 to Dec. 16. Team fee is $200.

Brandon Pirri to appear at Bridges' Scoreboard Aug. 29

GRIFFITH | Chicago Blackhawks player Brandon Pirri will be signing autographs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Bridges' Scoreboard Restaurant and Sports Bar. Blackhawks Alumni and Friends hold softball classic

CHICAGO | The Chicago Blackhawks Alumni Association will hold its Blackhawks Alumni and Friends Charity Softball Classic at noon Sept. 9 at Saint Xavier University's Richard R. Ferrell Memorial Field, 3700 W. 103rd St. Members of the Alumni Association, which consists of former Blackhawks players, will take on members from the Chicago Police and Fire departments.

Motorcycle Riders Association to hold 'Porker' Run

MERRILLVILLE | The Motorcycle Riders Association will hold a "Porker" Run Sept. 7 at the VFW Post 1563, 6880 Hendricks St. Registration runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. First bike out will be at 11 a.m., last bike in will be at 5 p.m. Cost is $20 for single rider and $25 for double. There will be a hog roast, door prizes and live band. Proceeds will go to help veterans and their families.

ELGIN | The Fox Valley Royals travel baseball program will be holding tryouts for the 2014 season at Westminster Christian School.

Tryouts for ages 9-15 will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17 and 24; from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 14, 21 and 28; and from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 31.

Tryouts for ages 15-18 will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 18 and 25; from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 14, 21 and 28; and from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 31.
