Calumet Memorial Park District offering flag football

CALUMET CITY | The Calumet Memorial Park District is offering flag football for ages 5-14. The league runs from April 23 through June 14. Practice and games will be held on weekdays at the Sandridge Community Center, 600 Oglesby Ave. Fee is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents. Lansing Lions holding football and cheer leading sign-ups

LANSING | Lansing Lions youth football and cheer leading is holding sign-ups for boys and girls ages 5-14 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Junior High, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 3 at Reavis Elementary, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 10 at Coolidge Elementary, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 17 at Oak Glen Elementary, and from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Wolcott School.

 

Pioneer Open at Harborside Golf Center

CHICAGO | St. Francis de Sales High School will hold the Pioneer Open, June 17 at Harborside International Golf Center. Registration opens at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:45 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. A reception and dinner will conclude the event at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the Pier 37 Club House. Foursomes are priced at $1,000 ($250/person). Cost for dinner only is $100. Sponsorship opportunities are available starting at $500. Proceeds to benefit the SFDS students.

UNIVERSITY PARK | University Park Parks and Recreation is looking for teams to participate in its Men's 16-Inch Sunday Softball League. SCHERERVILLE | Fleet Feet Sports is offering a Youth No Boundaries 5K running program for boys and girls ages 8-13. The program will focus on teaching the children the fundamentals of running, along with providing the training needed to complete a 5K (3.1 miles) run on June 22 at the Firecracker 5K in Chesterton.
