NWI Exiles surge past Chicago Riot, 29-27

HOBART | In what may be the biggest comeback in club history, the Northwest Indiana Exiles Rugby Club rallied from a 24-0 halftime deficit to defeat the previously undefeated Chicago Riot 29-27 Saturday at the Hobart Rugby Pitch.

Winger Kyle Morris raced 40 yards for a try to tie the game at 27-27 late in the second half before Dan Biby, who sustained a busted up nose and banged up shoulder during the game, kicked the two-point conversion -- his third of the game -- to put the Exiles up for good.

Morris had scored a previous try, and John Juzwicki Jr. and Josh Huddleson each scored trys for the Exiles.

Share the Rock basketball camp a Hobart MS

HOBART | The Share of Rock Basketball Camp for kids in grades 3-8 will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hobart Middle School, 36 East 8th St. Purdue University Calumet men's coach Dan Voudrie and Hobart High School boys coach Mike Black will be heading the cap. Olympic gold medalist featured at softball clinic

WESTVILLE | Olympic gold medalist Michelle Venturella, head softball coach at Illinois-Chicago, will join Lowell High School coach Pete Iussig and Calumet College coach Stephanie Zimney for a softball clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24 at Westville High School. Reception to honor former local football, wrestling coach

INDIANAPOLIS | All former football players and wrestlers who were guided by Donald Keith Morran while he coached at North Newton and Munster high schools in the mid-1970s are invited to attend a reception honoring Morran's retirement.
