Valpo Parks offer coed soccer, wiffle ball

VALPARAISO | The Valparaiso Parks and Recreation Department is offering sports programs. Sign-ups for adult coed soccer will run through Wednesday. Cost is $750 plus $12 per non-resident player. Individual players can sign up for $75, $87 for non-residents. An adult wiffle ball tourney will take place the weekend of June 7. Men's, women's and coed events will take place. Mat Blair Golf Academy offers clinics

VALPARAISO | The Mat Blair Golf Academy at Creekside Golf Course and Training Center offers clinics for juniors and adults. Get Golf Ready will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22 and 24. Cost is $100. Fore Ladies Only clinics will run at 9 a.m. Monday (Sand Shots) and April 28 (Woods: Tee and Fairway). Cost is $15. Adult afternoon clinics will run at 2 p.m. Wednesday (Distance Generators), April 23 (Sand Shots) and April 30 (Around the Green). Cost is $15. Seniors clinics will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Fridays. Cost is $20. A Monday Ladies League will have an organizational meeting at 6 p.m. April 28. A 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. league will be offered. The schedule will run May 5 through June 30. First Tee of Valparaiso will conduct sessions from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturdays through May 17. Runners can test Taltree trails next week

VALPARAISO | Runners are welcome to test the trails at Taltree Aboretum and Gardens from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through April 25. The week includes one-hour introductory runs at 5:30 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. April 25. Taltree offers a runner's membership for $40. VALPARAISO | Former Masters champion Fuzzy Zoeller will take part in First Tee of Valparaiso’s 15th anniversary celebration May 10 at Creekside Golf and Training Center. A free clinic will take place from 8:45 to 11 a.m. at the Creekside golf range. An adults-only mixer (limited to 50 people) with Zoeller will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A luncheon will follow from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Cost is $150 for the mixer and luncheon. Dunes Classic golf tournament at the Brassie

CHESTERTON | The 29th annual Dunes Classic golf tournament will take place May 17 and 18 at the Brassie Golf Club. It's a flighted-tournament format, 36-hole stroke competitive event. Flights will be based upon the results from the first round May 17. There will be flights for men, women and seniors (65 and older). Awards will be based upon low gross and will be presented during the lunch following the second round May 18.
