Illiana Ravens women's football team holding tryouts

LYNWOOD | The Illiana Ravens women's tackle football team is holding tryouts for ages 18 and over from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Ho Chunk Sports Complex, 10 Southland. Lake Central holding boys travel basketball tryouts

ST. JOHN | All seventh- and eighth-grade boys who live in the Lake Central School Corporation geographic area are invited to tryout for the L.C. Travel Basketball teams Dec. 15 in the Lake Central High School main gym. The seventh-grade tryout is at 3 p.m.; the eighth-grade tryout is at 4:30 p.m.

Tri Town holding spring flag football, cheer and dance league

SCHERERVILLE | The Tri Town Raiders is holding sign-ups for its flag football, cheer and dance league from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 4, 11 and 25 at the Dyer/Schererville Library. The league is for boys and girls ages 5-15. There are no size or residency requirements. Games will be played on the weekends during April. Cheer and dance teams will perform between the one-hour games.
