Winter baseball workouts at the C.P. Dome

CROWN POINT | Winter baseball workouts for new and returning Babe Ruth league-age players will run for 10 weeks at the Crown Point Family Fun Center Dome, 1301 Merrillville Road. The dates are Jan. 12, 19, 26; Feb. 9, 16, 23; March 2, 9, 16 and 23. Starting times are 5 p.m. for 13 year-olds; 6:30 p.m. for 14 year-olds; and 8 p.m. for 15 year-olds.

Toy Drive Pitching Camp at Indiana Elite

MERRILLVILLE | Baltimore Orioles prospect Trent Howard, and Central Michigan baseball players Jimmy McNamara and Taylor Lehnert will be the featured instructors at the Toy Drive Pitching Camp, from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Indiana Elite Baseball and Softball Facility, 8224 Wright St.

Cost for the camp is $10 plus one donated toy. Cash proceeds will be donated to the family of William Riley Knight, the good Samaritan who was killed while assisting another motorist.
