HOBART | The Northwest Indiana Exiles rugby team defeated the Will County Shamrocks 20-17 at the Hobart Rugby Field on Saturday. The Exiles were down 10-0 in the first half, jumped ahead 17-10 and held on for the win due to a Dan Bibi penalty kick.
The Exiles return home Sept. 21 to face the Illiana Misfits after a long road trip. Oct. 5 is the 40th Anniversary Celebration at the Hobart Rugby Field.

Indiana Chiefs holding long toss program and instruction
HAMMOND | The Indiana Chiefs of Hammond will be offering a long toss program with baseball instruction at Riverside Park in Hammond. The program will be offered three days a week -- from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays. The Tuesday and Thursday sessions will focus strictly on the long toss program.
