Eastsiders win another 16-inch softball title in thriller
CHICAGO | The Eastsiders, who were inducted in the Chicago 16-Inch Softball Hall of Fame last year, won another Mann Park League title -- yet this one may be the most dramatic.
After a sub-par regular season where they finished second, the Eastsiders advanced to the postseason playoff final round against regular season champions, Club 81.
The Eastsiders won the first game of the best-of-three series, 18-3, but were trailing 11-5 going into their last at-bats in the bottom of the seventh of the second game. The Eastsiders rallied for seven runs to win the championship in a 12-11 final.
Tri-Town Raiders Bash Sept. 20 at Community Center
