GRIFFITH | The Playmakers are holding tryouts for their baseball teams for the 2014 season. Tryouts for the 9-year-old team are 7 p.m. Aug. 7 and 11 a.m. Aug. 10 at Dave Griffin's; tryouts for the 11-year-old teams are noon July 27, 7 p.m. July 31 and noon Aug. 4 at Dave Griffin's for Brian Clark's team; and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27 and from 1 to 3 p.m. July 28 at St. Mary's School in Griffith for Larry Babcock's team; tryouts for 12U through 16U teams will be Aug. 4 at Griffith High School -- from 5 to 7 p.m. for 12U, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for 13U, 1 to 3 p.m. for 14U, 3 to 5 p.m. for 15U, and from 9 to 11 a.m for 16U.

HIGHLAND | The Triple All Stars are holding tryouts for their travel baseball organization Aug. 3 and 10 at Kane Field in Homestead Park. Ron Kittle to hold Retro Jersey Motorcycle Ride

COUNTRYSIDE | Ron Kittle's Retro Jersey Motorcycle Ride will take place Aug. 17 starting and ending at the Illinois Harley Davidson, 9950 Joliet Road.
