Midnight bike ride set to roll this weekend: The WHAM Ride is scheduled for today and Sunday at Wolf Lake pavilion. Cost is $25. Register at the event from 9 to 11:30 p.m. today. There will be music, prizes and vendor booths before the ride and a pancake breakfast after. The speed riders head out first at midnight Sunday, followed by long-route riders and then those riding the short route.

St. John 14U Tomahawks to have fundraisers today and Sunday: The St. John 14-and-under Tomahawks will have a fundraiser garage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 1206 Saratoga Ave. in Schererville. The fundraiser will benefit travel expenses for the baseball team and its families for its trip to Virginia to play in the World Series. Another fundraiser will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at La Quesadilla in Crown Point, with 15 percent of those sales going back to the team to help pay for its trip.

Outsiders Baseball Club to hold tryouts: The Outsiders Baseball Club will hold tryouts for 10-and-under, 11U, 14U and 16U for the 2018 season today at Dave Griffin's Baseball School, 1200 W. Oilmen to host College Prospect Showcase: The Oilmen will host their first college prospect showcase Aug. 13 at Oil City Stadium for players looking to play at the collegiate level. Valpo softball to host camp: Valparaiso University coach Kate Stake and the Crusaders softball program will host a Fall Experience Camp on Sept. 30 at the VU field.
