FIVE INDUCTEES TO BE ADDED TO VU HOF IN FEBRUARY: Four individuals and one group of teams will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame as the Class of 2013 on Feb. 16.

The list includes Katie Boone, Floyd Henderson, Paul Nauman and Jack Todhunter as well as the Crusaders' cross country teams from 1963 to 1965.

The banquet will begin at 11 a.m. in Hilltop Gym. The cost is $30. Registration deadline is Feb. 8. The inductees will also be recognized at halftime of the men’s and women’s basketball games played that day.

Boone played basketball for the Crusaders from 2001 to 2005. Henderson, who was a member of the football and track and field squads, was the first African-American student-athlete to compete for VU. Nauman earned four letters in both baseball and football for the Crusaders. Todhunter was a First Team All-American baseball player. The cross country squads placed fourth in the NCAA College Division national meet in 1963, seventh in 1964 and third in 1965.

Men's basketball

NO. 6 IU ROUTS FLORIDA ATLANTIC: Cody Zeller had 24 points and six rebounds; Christian Watford scored 17 points, and No. 6 Indiana overwhelmed another undermanned opponent, crushing Florida Atlantic (5-7) 88-52 Friday night.

Indiana has shot a combined 60.4 percent from the field in two games this week en route to a 29th consecutive nonconference win at home.

Since losing Saturday to Butler, the Hoosiers (11-1) are 64 of 106 from the field.

COOLEY'S DOUBLE-DOUBLE POWERS NO. 22 IRISH PAST NIAGARA: Jack Cooley had 24 points and 15 rebounds, both season highs, to lead No. 22 Notre Dame to an 89-67 win over Niagara (5-7).

It was Cooley's eighth double-double in his last 10 games. He entered tied for second nationally in that statistic.

Freshman forward Cameron Biedscheid had 15 points for Notre Dame (12-1), which extended its winning streak to 10.

CALUMET COLLEGE PICKS UP HOME WIN: Javon Robinson poured in a game-high 24 points to lead Calumet College to a 69-54 win over visiting Indiana Dabney. James Hunt added 13 points for Calumet College.


Pro football

BEARS' URLACHER TO MISS THIRD CONSECUTIVE GAME: Linebacker Brian Urlacher will miss his third straight game because of a hamstring injury when the Bears visit the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The eight-time Pro Bowl pick was officially ruled out on Friday. He has not played since Dec. 2.

Defensive tackle Henry Melton was listed as doubtful because of a chest injury. Receiver Earl Bennett (concussion), linebacker Blake Costanzo (calf), cornerback Tim Jennings (shoulder) and offensive tackle Jonathon Scott (hamstring) are questionable. Costanzo did not practice on Friday.

Receiver Brandon Marshall (hamstring), linebacker Geno Hayes (knee) and defensive end Shea McClellin (knee) are all probable.


Pro baseball

SOURCE SAYS WHITE SOX'S PIERZYNSKI TO SIGN WITH RANGERS: A person familiar with the situation says catcher A.J. Pierzynski has passed a physical, clearing the way for a one-year deal with the Texas Rangers.

That person spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because the Rangers had not added Pierzynski to their 40-man roster.

Pierzynski, who turns 36 later this month, hit .278 with a career-high 27 homers and 77 RBIs, matching a career best, in 135 games for the White Sox last season.

HIBBERT SCORES 18 AS PACERS PASTE CAVS: Roy Hibbert scored 18 points, and Lance Stephenson added a season-high 16 to lead the Pacers to a 99-89 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

FOLKSTYLE OPEN AT HANOVER CENTRAL: The Rick Larsen Wrestling Club will hold the Hanover Central Folkstyle Open on Sunday at the high school.
