Charles Anderson, 86, of Hammond,

passed away Monday, February 1, 1999 at The Community Hospital, Munster. He was

the beloved husband of the late Mildred (Parrick) Anderson, who passed away

November 18, 1996. He is survived by many friends at the Hammond Nursing

Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 1999, 10 a.m. at

the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting, IN, with Brother Jim Spradlin

of the South Side Christian Church, Munster, officiating. Interment at Elmwood

Cemetery, Hammond. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 a.m.

until time of services.

Mr. Anderson was was a lifelong resident of Hammond;

member of the South Side Christian Church, Munster; the Masonic Order; the

Lansing Lions Club; a World War II Army veteran having served in Germany; and a

retired mechanic and owner and operator of a Amoco Service Station in Lansing.

Sarah Boardman Baranowski, 66, of Bullhead City, AZ (a

resident for the past 10 years), formerly of Highland, IN, passed away Sunday,

January 31, 1999. She was the owner of Sarah's Catering in Griffith, IN for 15

years. Survived by husband, Robert and two sons, Robert and Mark Baranowski,

all of Arizona; three sisters, Helen Trosper of Griffith, IN, Goldie Boardman

and Rosetta (Gottfried) Riess, both of Hammond, IN; and many loving nieces and

nephews. Preceded in death by parents Clarence Ottis and Edna J. Boardman, one

sister, Dolly Hollis, two brothers, Fred and Lawrence Boardman. Sarah loved

Ferrell), 76, of Crown Point, formerly of Muskegon and Detroit, Michigan,

passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 1999. Survived by husband of 40 years,

Richard A. Parks; three sons, Richard J. (Carol L.) Parks of Valparaiso, Robert

S. (Kimberly A.) Parks of Ogden Dunes and William T. (Sarah C.) Parks of Lake

in the Hills, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Nick, Maeghan, Kelli, Brenna,

Quinn, Kate, Elizabeth and Michael; two sisters, Margaret Hansen of Grand

Rapids, MI and Patricia Bennett of Tecumseh, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services Friday, February 5, 1999 at 11:15 a.m. at the Burns Funeral

Home, (corner of 101st & Broadway), Merrillville/Crown Point Chapel, to St.

Matthias Church, Crown Point, for Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon, Rev.

Terry J. Steffens officiating. Services will terminate at the church. Friends

may call at Burns Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 A.M. to 8 P.M. !

Barbara Patterson, 53, of Hammond Indiana

went to her Eternal Rest after a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, Febuary

3, 1999. She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Larry; two sons,

Dominic Roger and Larry (Myra) Patterson JR.; Two daughters, Toni (Jeffery)

Winters and Brandi (fiance Kevin ) Roger, both of Hammond; one brother Daniel

Guillory of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Jennifer,Alexandraa, Shelby, Amanda,

Joshua and Arron. preceded in death by one daughter, Terrie Roger.

Funeral

prayers will be said at the Virgil Huber Funeral Home Saturday morning at 9:

15 a.m with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am at St.Catherine of

Siena Catholic Church with Father Larry Kew celebrating. Burial will follow at

St.John Cemetery,Hammond. Visiation will be Friday 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm at

the Virgil Huber Funeral Home, 7051 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond.

Esther Shade, 92,of Crown Point, passed away

Monday, February 1,1999. Survived by daughter, Autumn (Virgil) Ludwig of Crown

Point; three grandchildren Timothy (Janet) Ludwig of Indianapolis, Terryl

(William) Beth Bish of Crown Point and Tracy (Matthew) Kelnhofer of Crown

Point; six great grandchildren; Jamie and Lindsay Ludwig, Corbin and Nolan

Bish, Joseph and Christopher Kelnhofer. Preceded in death in September, 1998 by

husband of 74 years Orvel. Mrs. Shade was a retired manager at Levine's Boston

Store and Bieker Construction Company. She was a past member of the Indiana

Trail Grange.

Private Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 6,

1999, at 11 a.m.at the Pruzin & Little Chapel, 811 East Franciscan Drive (on

State Road 55 South of State Road 231), Crown Point,with Rev.Thomas Norwalk

officiating. At rest, Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.

Saturday.

Matykiewicz of Coal Valley, IL; 16 grandchildren; Colleen and Leslie Sands,

Michael, David, Mark and Ann Matykiewicz; one sister, Bernice Mysleviec of

Palos Heights, IL. Preceded in death by his wife Julia in 1989.

sister, Norma (Delbert) Creviston of Griffith; brother, Gilbert (Carol)

Campbell; grandchildren, Richard A. (Kathy) Orich, Richelle (Joe) Dutka, Ronald

J. Orich, Vince, Mark and Michael Stemper; great grandchildren, Kyle and Kara

Dutka, Kailey Orich and Alex Stemper; and her very dear pet Tasha. Preceded in

death by husband, Richard.
