Flight 4184 remembered

Small white wooden crosses in neat rows flank a rock that carries a memorial plaque in memory of the 68 passengers and crew who died in 1994 when American Airlines Flight 4184 went down in a crop field 18 years ago -- killing 68 passengers and crew members. Pat Hansen, of Naperville lost her brother Frank in the crash. "To family members, our heart is always here," she said. Hansen suggested a change in tradition of the memorial service from one of pain to one of joy as about a dozen relatives gathered again Wednesday to share poems, stories and tears about their loved ones, but joyful memories as well.
