Hammond woman recalls meeting Pope Francis at church conferences in Argentina

Alejandra Keefe, of Hammond and originally from Argentina, sits in a pew at St. John Bosco Church in Hammond. Keefe met Pope Francis, then-Bishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio, twice during theological seminars when she was 19 and 20 years old in Argentina. "It was a big shock that they elected him. I was so excited, so happy, so proud," Keefe said.
