Indiana ranks near the bottom in infant mortality

Shantell Brown, of Hammond, spends time with her son, 10-week-old E.J. Brown, in the neonatal intensive care unit at Community Hospital in Munster. E.J. was born premature at 24 weeks. Brown visits her son almost every day in the hospital's level III neonatal intensive care unit.
