St. John the Evangelist Parish kicks off summer festival

Gianna Rodriguez, 2, gets a lei flower greeting from one of the Polynesian dancers Thursday at the St. John the Evangelist Parish festival. The four-day festival features free nightly entertainment, carnival rides, games for children, indoor bingo, a variety of food vendors and more. A free shuttle bus service, located in the former Kmart parking lot, will make runs today and Saturday.
