  1. I already did that. Sayonara Times!

  2. I totally agree with you. There are times that comments got out of hand, but how many occasions were there incomplete stories that only came out with the added comments. There are certain government officials that the paper seem to favor who don't really tell the whole story so the public can read it. They only publish what they want us to know. I've even called the editors and they tell me they have "correspondents" not "reporters". I guess that means they write anything they are told without regard to the truth.

  3. Here's the other point you're all missing. Do you think NIPSCO is doing this out of their money? Uhh, check the rate case that gave them the money to collect from us to do this! They weren't free meters.

  4. Pathetic that the council is also the members of their own finance committee! They are also the only members of the utility board. This would make a great story for the Times investigative staff. How much more can these jokers assign themselves too and shut out any taxpayer participation?! Even more so, what additional pay do they get for assigning themselves to all these roles?

  5. Disgusting... You think Jesus would endorse that opinion?

  6. The comments are almost as disturbing as the story. A 13 year old is a 13 year old. 19 year old guys need to learn that they are adults and make adult decisions. Having sex with a 13 year old is not an adult decision.

  7. Hopefully now there will be some reasonably fair approach to the awards, instead of the buddy system that has been the legacy of this group. Year after year, many of the top students were snubbed in favor of those who were in the "know". It was hard to comprehend thousands of dollars being awarded to the party crowd when the hard working students were awarded a pittance or just plain stiffed.

  8. Good riddance to the superintendent who thought she knew it all. Getting rid of the IT director role and replacing the business manager with the former head of the cafeteria were her first misses. She stated she could provide the oversight needed...hmmm, a real jack of all trades. I would love to know why she was put on administrative leave. They should replace those two key roles with real professionals who know their fields, not another jack of all trades superintendent.

  9. Are they issuing 1099s to to this contractor or is it another cash under the table deal this group is so fond of to pay friends and cronies?! They don't care about taxpayer money. Barenie and Forbes have let this power go to their heads. They think they are co-kings of the town. Losers!
Given this economy this band of fools have a lot of nerve giving themselves a raise to make $20,000 a year to attend a few meetings a month! Then they setup a utility board to pay themselves more $ at the taxpayer's expense. They all need to go. How about the Attorney General investigate all this?
