In 2011 the Emergency Services was still costing over $500,000. They did not want to get rid of this because it is one less fund that they could pull from. With the State Board of Accounts Report showing an incorrect amount for every account due to accounting double talk, there is no way to accurately track what funds are being used. Where is the income generated from running the program? No ambulance ride is free, someone pays, either Medicare or Medicaid. This service was only justified for the unincorporated section of the Township since Gary has their service provided for by the Fire Department and Griffith has theirs through Prompt. Griffith was paying nothing for their service while the Township was maintaining what basically amounted to as an employment agency that, once again cost the tax payers half a million a year. No tracking of money collected, exorbitant amount needed to run a program that should have been outsource years ago for free, and playing the poor pity me card, No wonder Griffith wants to leave you. As Moses said to the Pharaoh of Egypt "Let my people go."
