And the trolls are at it again, making our region look like a very culturally backwards place.
They like non-renewable energy that creates harmful waste and destroys out planet.
They hate utilizing science to get energy from the sun--that is, they hate good ol' american innovation.
They love tax breaks for oil companies and big agra, but hate them when it goes to something that will actually benefit their grandchildren.
They love nuclear power which creates wastes and hazards (think Hurricane Sandy) lasting more generations than may be able to live on this planet.
They love private corporations controlling our commons, but when it comes to a private solar energy company selling their product to nipsco they complain about the cost of the program and their tax dollars?

This is the new civil rights struggle: LGBT equality.
How would you want someone to treat you if you were gay? Oh, wait, Jesus said "treat your neighbor like dirt."

I really wish NWI times would either cancel the comments sections, or require that people's identities are public (it is so easy to say hateful things when you are anonymous).

Well, for your knowledge, I would take a lot of pride if you called me a "social justice pacifist anarchist."

People who insult others' intelligence, bully others into conformity, and spew hate are not worth continuing a conversation with.
Learn to love. It will make you feel better--more real. And I am sorry that our educational system and regional culture has obviously failed you--otherwise you would be able to make valid decisions and reason properly.

Read a couple books on it, and you will learn that everything you consider a "fact" is a lie.

Check out DemocracyNow.org and you will learn the true facts.
You will learn to be compassionate to both immigrants (which you probably are a relative of) and "countrymen" as ya'll say it. I'm unemployed, but I know it is because people like you vote for the wealthy to have more power! and the working man/woman to be more exploited!

Mutual accountability, transparency, and the dispersion of power (AKA democracy)--this is what you all yearn for. Read Francis Moore Lappe's "Ecomind." That book will open your eyes!

And, stop trying to "save face" when I call you on your unethical and uncaring beliefs!

These right wing attitudes make me sick! When did you lose your compassion? Isn't that what your role model Jesus talked about (not about "illegal" immigration)?

Why don't you address our real problems? : the concentration of power and wealth, a culture of secrecy and lies, and blaming others instead of being mutually accountable with others--feeling that wonderful joy of helping others in their great need.

Open the borders! I thought you yearned for the "free market"? Oh, the border is open for products, but closed for people! Right!

I found out that my great grandfather arrived in the US from Poland illegally. You had to prove that you had $5 before being let in to the country. His friend, in line before him, showed the border official the $5 and then passed it to my great grandfather.

I am self-deporting back to Poland because it is the right thing to do.
You should check out your ancestry too, before ranting about "illegals."
