- Google is free. You get what you pay for. This system looks like it will provide some depth for the various city services. I have even heard of SWAT teams using these things to have detailed floor plans available. The biggest problem comes after the sale. How well will the city maintain these plans? It can be a lot of work keeping them updated.

- Interesting comparison to East Chicago. I believe they were civilians already--there move didn't take firemen away from the city. They traded citizen for citizen. They they also traded control of the product for no control of the product.

- Both Sue Lynch and Liz Modesto are VERY responsible for the past, not wonder they don't want to talk about it. They let Mayor Olga have carte blanche.....most of that was expected from Liz but Sue was a major disappointment during that administration and she is well on her way this time around too.

- Serious questions to ponder: Where was the ambulance that it took them the extra time to respond? Were they on another call, at the hospital, or tooling around the City of Portage? Why is the ambulance first on scene to a fire call? 13 minutes for a fire engine to arrive when the fire wasn't that far from the station? It is a volunteer service but the public deserves a better response. How long would it have taken Portage Fire Department to arrive had they been sent at the same time?

- Because Joyce has been literally handed golden information from previous administrations and chose not to do anything about it (or her editors). I know of 3 stories that were gift-wrapped for her and none made it to print. Again, this may be her editors quashing stories, but she also deserves credit as well. How do I know? I know 3 different people that have handed her information.

- I agree....I am sure the Times can find a lot on Oprisko--what a HYPOCRITE! With all the BS the former Mayor got away with the Times chooses to cover this??? There are other contractors that were in bed with former Mayors too. Where are those stories?
