Yes the teachers should be mad, but call your state reps down in Indy and demand fairer pay for the teachers in our district instead of whining over some well deserved raises the admin is getting. If those admin people went into Illinois, they would be making almost double their salary (as teachers would also). Indiana does not get the same perks as Illinois teachers, my child (grown) taught in one of the local lake county high schools and paid over $1000 a month to have his family on his health insurance. The only way a teacher can earn a higher salary is to coach a sport or an extracurricular activity which state is trying also to curtail. They expect some of these teachers to work for nothing on their own hours so that the kids can still belong to some of these lesser ones. Yes they should all get raises, not just the schools in Marion county.
