Through grant funding made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Department of Energy committed to provide ArcelorMittal with half of the $63.2 million project cost in 2009. really? really? and how many jobs did this create? maybe it was a worthwhile project for the environment, but what about the supposed economic stimulus? how is that working? more Washington bull. and it's not a loan, it's a grant, never to be paid back. "The system will save ArcelorMittal an average of $20 million in electricity costs per year." if this $20 million savings is true, why didn't the company make the investment? and who is going to reap the benefit of these savings? the tax payers? the employees? no, our "stimulus" money, yeah, sure.
