  1. Voice of Truth...I don't know who you are...I hope I know you and just don't know it...but this is true...I love you :)

  2. I have to say, I am downtown all hours of the day and night and have yet to see these "rats" that Valposince1960 keeps speaking of. And the "free drink coupon" will be used for an alcoholic beverage in the bar...not OJ...I believe the article makes that pretty clear. Good for this business owner! In this economic climate he can still invest in something he believes will improve his business. I think instead of criticizing we should be applauding the effort of someone to better the community! If I have said it once I have said it a thousand times...I am PROUD to be a member of the Valparaiso community! I don't understand why anyone would want to convey a dirty, rat infested, picture of downtown Valparaiso...It is just NOT THE TRUTH.

  3. The building that Pikk's is located in is a wonderful historic place in downtown Valparaiso. It was originally a butcher shop in the 20's and Paul has done a great job restoring it, as well as educating the staff about it's history. I can assure you there are no rats in the building whatsoever! As far as overlooking Orville on a bench I suppose living in Valpo since 1960 you still have not heard that Orville is kind of a staple of the community....The view of the park is quite beautiful and makes ME proud to be a member of the Valparaiso community. The prices at Pikk's are comparable to all the other downtown establishments and the portions are generous. I am proud to live in Valparaiso and proud that businesses can flourish here...Instead of bitterness, pride might be something you should try. My grandfather always used to say (he was no P.T. Barnum but he was a Vet and a good man) "If you can't say anything nice...Keep your trap closed!"
