  1. The Hobart Y has bad business practices. I signed up for a Zumba class and the instructor was sick the first day. I understand that and thought that we would have a make-up class. But the lady from the Y said no, they don't do make-up classes but I would receive a credit on my account. I am not a member there and I didn't think I had an account but the lady said that if I sign up for another class then they would apply this credit to that one. I didn't like that but that was their policy. So I finished the Zumba class and went to sign up for another one. The credit was not on my account in the computer. They said they would call me later to resolve it since it was in the evening and the management wasn't there. They did call me but the said that they would only give me $1.50 credit and not the full $6.00 credit that they owed me. They said I would have to get the rest of the credit from the Zumba instructor! That's crazy! I signed up with the Y and they have an agreement with the instructor, not me. They can keep their stupid credit as I did not sign up for another class nor will I ever again.

  2. People who don't have families are NOT losers. My family is getting smaller and smaller due to deaths and others who have moved far away. Holidays are sad for people who are alone and the have every right to try and enjoy the holiday like everyone else.

  3. You can't compare the graduation rate at the main Purdue campus to the regional campuses. Most of the students who attend the regional campuses have jobs, some have families and it takes them longer to finish their degree. Even the ages of the students are different at the regional campuses; you have some older, returning adult students who are working on their degree while the main campus has your traditional 18-20 something students who probably don't have families and if they have a job, it is probably an on campus job that will work around their class schedule. It is like comparing apples to oranges. Before he starts making any decisions, he needs to do his homework about the student population and demographics of all of the campuses, but then I guess that is asking for too much. He's already got his degrees and he's done doing any homework.
