- I went to school with Dustin. I feel in my heart that he didn't do it. This might sound sadistic, but Dustin was too intelligent to dump his ex girlfriends body right by his house. I could never see Dustin killing someone to begin with. If he did do it, I believe he deserves whatever punishment he gets though. I really don't think he did it, but I do feel like a McCowan did murder Amanda. Dustin's father had tried to sleep with Amanda on multiple occasions upon which she always turned him down. The father was also abusive to Dustin's mother. A witness even said his squad car was home when he was suppose to be working. There were also several anonymous calls placed from the Crown Point police department to the court house inquiring about the case... I hope true justice is served and an innocent kid isn't convicted of a crime he never commited.
