- Why don't we have a raffle to pick a new name for the airport. Charge a buck a chance. Most of the people in Indiana will buy a chance just so the name Gary appears in one less place. Then use the proceeds to extend the "El" from Chicago out to the Airport.

- When was the last time that anyone with a life threatening condition was denied care by any Medical Institution in the US? I think it was before 1946. My parents and I went most of the way through life without anything other than Major Medical Insurance until they and I qualified for Medicare. When are you going to wake up to the FACT that OBAMACARE is nothing more than smoke, mirrors, and big taxes. I suspect that it is time for the commenter's on this blog to quit "carping" and start reading the parts of the plan that have already been published. For the rest of it, just get in line and bend over with the rest of us.

- Given the outrageous things you hear about schools in various parts of the country I wouldn't be so quick to toot the horn of our traditional educators. Why just last week we were told of a teacher who had students write the name of "Jesus" on a piece of paper and then stomp on it. We also heard of a child making a "gun" out of a pop tart and being suspended. If our current "teachers" were worth a darn, we wouldn't need signs on gas pumps that say "Do not Ingest". Yes, I blame the teachers because almost all administrators (principals, deans, etc.) were once teachers. I for one think that changing the requirement to favor "real world experience" might just allow schools to do what they are supposed to and get out of the areas that parents should be covering. At the very least, it might do away with some of the stupid things we hear about constantly in the media about schools etc.

- There has not been $1.00 in cuts in the Federal Budget in years. I don't understand how we can call a slow down in the amount of increase a cut. Since I went to College on the GI Bill, the government paid for my education and apparently it was a waste of money since I obviously can't understand what they call "PLAIN ENGLISH".

- Sounds like more "junk science" to me. Has it occurred to any of the "intelligentsia" that we are experiencing more flooding problems in more places than ever before? A larger and larger percentage of the earth's surface is being paved or put "under roof". The water that used to be absorbed into this "ground" has to go somewhere. Instead of returning directly to the aquifer it is being evaporated and may be some of the cause of more severe weather. Well, it sounds good anyway! Let Mother Nature deal with this issue. The less involvement by the government or academia the better.
