- Why such negative comments? Really. This school has over 3500 students and because 5 got into a fight you are bashing an entire high school? Morton just had 5 kids suspended from their football team and I bet that school doesn't even have 1000 kids. Kids get into fights, it happens. I know a lot of students that go to LC. They have a lot of pride in their school and are good kids. As for the drug reference, there are drugs in all schools. Even precious Munster and Andrean. This starts at home with the parents. There are kids in my neighborhood who smoke pot at home and their parents don't care. Look at who your children are hanging out with. It speaks volumes.

- Are you saying that you not only recommend shorter days but also a shorter school year? How can you possibly compare graduation and absentee rates from the 50's to today? Trust me, its not due to a longer school day or year, its due to absentee parents and the "not my kid" attitude. Kids today are coddled and treated like babies. And now we are worried they don't have enough time for vacations? Keep giving and giving to these children and all they do is want (and expect) more and more. BigDon, I bet you probably came home from school and went to work, or did something "productive". These kids would come home to video games and running the streets.
