  1. "According to museum officials, the lighthouse replaced one that was built on the water's edge in 1837 and was renovated in 1904. There were seven keepers and 14 assistant keepers at the lighthouse from 1837 to 1940, museum officials said."

  2. I agrree 100% with Lakeshore. Religion does not belong Anywhere in out political system. It's way past time that this kind of thing changes.
Have a look at what the Freedom From Religion Foundation is doing to that end: http://ffrf.org/

Organized religion has Always treated women as property or worse. Get the facts Cman before you call Lakeshore's comments 'bizarre.'

  3. "Most of that money will be used for improvements to the U.S. 30 corridor in order to make it traffic and pedestrian friendly and aesthetically appealing in order to encourage private investment."

Which basically means, you guessed it, More Roundabouts that will stop traffic along these corridors. I think that people will take the backroads instead leading to more accidents. Again I'm going to ask, Aren't there any consultants in This Area? Why hire a firm from Indy? There's $2 million heading downstate...

  4. Great beer, great food. Yes the music can be loud on the east side of the place when they have live music on Fridays but if you sit on the opposite side of the building it's not bad at all. I like Figure 8 a lot better than the over-hopped beer and pompous people at Three Floyd's in Munster, the people at Figure 8 make the place the fine establishment that it is.

  6. "New shelters with high visibility will normally see their adoption rates double, thereby reducing animals held and reducing euthanasia and related expenses," according to a $6,500 needs assessment study completed for the county by Shelter Planners of America.

They needed to pay someone $6500 to tell them that?? Such a waste.

  7. I have tried lots of microbrews and the issue that i have with three floyd's beer is that it mostly all tastes the same. I'm not sure if they use the same hops in each of their beers, but other than their scottish ale and one or two other there, they all taste like a hoppy pale ale.
I much prefer Figure8 in Valpo and the Shoreline Brewery in Michigan City. Each to their own though, if the people of munster want to go to this place and deal with the rude employees, more power to them.
