  6. I do not know Ms. Dressel's political affiliation. After meeting with her on a few occasions, I have come to know her as a very fair and competent Assessor for the people of Center Township. The people of Center Township elected to retain a township assessor during Marty Wheeler's stewardship of that office, and she left it in very capable hands. The abberations that have cropped up because of the general reassessment by Nexus have been explained to me and are very well understood.   7. J Bird, this project is to use grant money from a private endowment fund. The Donnelley Foundation identifies natural habitats that are in need of preserving and distributes about $6M each year for this effort all around the Chicagoland and Lake Michigan regions. Cedar Lake is the perfect habitat in need of support from such foundations. This effort would need your support, too, as a concerned resident - not taxpayer.

    I would also urge your support of more trails in this community. Indiana's former Governor felt so strongly about recreational trails in communities that he doubled his funding from $10M to $20M per year toward this effort. If every community around us is thriving, and they are linking to the various recreational trails for people to exercise. . . and Cedar Lake wants to thrive. . .

    I like to think that these projects would be great rewards to our children for their continued accomplishments in school. I am so proud to call Cedar Lake home to such great schools when they are recognized nationally for their excellence. Is it not too much to ask for the people of this community to rally for this cause and put our best foot forward in pitching the Founder's Creek and Cedar Creek projects to such a worthy cause and foundation?

  8. This is such a great story. I want to praise the St. Anthony's birthing center for their work. I have had all my children delivered there and would give them a 10 out 10 for their service and care. So glad to see this story painting the St. Anthony's team in this light.

  9. The era of transparency, common good, enforcement. I am in favor of protecting our lake. I have lived my entire life with the consequences of amateur businesses promoting lakefront getaways with sandy beaches. If a business is lucrative, it should be legit.
