  1. There is a reason that not many Region teams will play Bowman, and while they always have a new round of opponents each year. Trash talking...dirty play. Every year it's the same. Even in the HS Summer leagues. And yes, I've seen it first hand...my son played against them...got punched below the belt. I've seen the same in other Bowman games...only once did the refs catch it. But guess what? That player didn't get yanked out...the Coach left him in...

  2. Well if it's better rated "Poor" for so long, why don't they just wait another year or so for the bridge to come down on it's own..........save some $$$$$.

  4. I just got a half a side of beef, and whole hog direct from a farmer, stocked up on pasta, rice, and other non perishibles at good ole Bailey's in North Judson, and upicked a lot of blueberries and tomatoes this summer that will last til next. Now I just buy fill products with sales items at Town and Country and Aldi, and salivate at the thought of Meijer's coming to Portage. I've only been to the Wiseway in Chesterton a couple times, so won't miss...I will miss their ads though, which I used numerous times at Walmart for price matching!

  5. The new bike trail in Porter ALREADY connects the Portage Prairie Duneland Trail to the Dunes. (as soon as they open the already built bridges over US20, and US12). Great access to the Lakeshore Parks. I really like that it goes right thru Bailey Homestead and Chellberg Farm. Which begs me to ask...if the Indiana Lakeshore cannot even fund a couple seasons of farm animals for education and history, how are they going to afford something like this???

  8. Yes--The Times missed that one, and another Bishop Noll product...Jason Hawkins played at Valpo about 10 years ago...he was from Gary, and is the IUN coach now.

Davidson is going to do well at the next level--great b-ball IQ, and unselfish. Good luck to him!

  10. As a South Bend St Joe grad, I never realized the outrageous advantage Catholic school have in football. All four teams left in the 2A division are Catholic High Schools! ALL FOUR!!! If that isn't a wake up to the IHSAA that there needs to be a multiplier system for private schools, I don't know what is. Oh, maybe the fact that 10 of the 16 teams from 1A to 4A are Catholic School? Or if you look at data for the past 10 years, the disparity of Catholic school teams in the Championship games are incredible. I know there's a lot of good arguments on both sides, but I think the fairest for all of Indiana athletes is the +1 division.
