  1. Nick Kocot....that was the best commentary I have ever read on this tragedy. I have been trying to express a similar view to many people, but you have written it down with such clarity and common sense. I will send your commentary out to many.
Not sure what "Pinion's" problem is....probably has graded too many papers. Maya, you are one that should never have a gun. Maya Pinion, very clever. We would be much safer, if the adults in our community would feel enough compassion to share in an effort to look out for each other, be aware of what is going on around us and be ready to alert authorities of a suspicious situation. However, for those who would be willing to step up and be able to stop a shooter from killing more than they probably already have, that would be a blessing. Of course this would only be for those that volunteer; they would be required to be screened, trained and licensed. School employees and staff that volunteer, would need additional training. I personally don't think that trained employees in a school should carry their weapon on them (accept for the police officer in the building). A gun locked in their desk is a thousand times better than being helpless and waiting for the shooter to come to your room next. Research what England is going through right now, not being able to own a gun. The bad guys are doing the killing. One man had a hidden gun in his home and shot at two men taking over his house. The owner shot and killed one of the men. Now the owner is looking at a life sentence in prison. We can think of a thousand excuses of why not to do what Nick was talking about.....money! too dangerous, fear and a bunch of "yes, buts" including an intellectual poser who found it impossible to understand what Officer Kocot was talking about, saying that Nick's 'commentary was disjointed, did not seem to have a purpose, central theme or follow a logical progression'..........Pinion, Pinion.......HELLO!
