- The crime is not going to stop at the East Chicago station !! So...it looks like the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District Police needs to be "re-trained " and add about 6 more" Barney Fifes" to their ranks ? They are "ineffective" when it comes to security. I almost want to agree with " Blueman",but I'm not quite there yet !!! If the NICTDP cannot handle the security at these stations,the local police need to take over. Someone being stabbed in the neck goes way beyond "THINGS".So you need a security force who can handle this kind of violence and be prepared for more of it !!! Especially during the holiday season when just about everyone riding the train has just "THINGS" to be had. If the NICTDP is unwilling or afraid to fight this kind of Domestic terrorism...maybe they could put some "THINGS" boxes out in the station where the commuters can just throw their "THINGS" in the boxes while the domestic terrorist watch,take what they want and no one gets stabbed !!! Yeah,that's the ticket,after all,it's only "THINGS ".
