- There seems to be a group of library haters out there. Im guessing they never read a book or step into a library themselves and assume that no one else does either. If they had they would of seen anywhere from 500 to 1000 books, magazines and audio materials checked out on any given day. There are avid readers out there who read anywhere from 5-10 books every two weeks. It would be impossible for them to purchase that many themselves and if you watched them you would notice that many of them are of the poorest of the community. The computers are filled with people who NEED them. Yes, when you are unemployed you can no longer afford that luxury at home called internet. With todays economy the services provided are needed now more than ever. Most libraries have Wifi and you will see students there with their laptops and library books studying. The programs offered are there to enlighten everyone that attends. To all you boo hoo haters out there, wake up! Remember where you came from.
