- Here is something to think about, so I've seen a few posts bashing Sopko. I maybe saw him one time the whole 4 years I was a student at Munster, so I have no opinion of him. The principal and assistant principal on the other hand are always at the school. Could it be possible that one of them made this mess and Sopko is just the spokesperson for the school? I could be completely wrong, but I was just curious where Mr. Wells or the principal are in all of this?

- I graduated from Munster fairly recently, and the same thing happened while I was a student. Although the only student punished was the first student to send it out. Anyone that was a student at the time received the picture in a text message, and if they say that they didn't they are lying. My point is if they received the picture in a text message how can the student control what they are sent? They have to open the text to see it, so that's their fault for being unaware of the content? Now if they saved the picture to their phone that is 100% their fault, but what about the few students that did not? Another thing that bothers me is that majority of the students suspended were male, but I guarantee there are a good number of female students with the picture on their phone. The female students having the picture on their phones should be equally punished for the same broken rule. Finally, while I do feel sorry that the girl whose picture it was for being exposed, it is her own fault for sending the picture in the first place.

- May I suggest to all the union members who took the time to go pick up a sign and put it in their yard, instead maybe take that time and ask your BA why they are spending time and money printing signs instead of dealing with the large amount of non-union work that is happening in both Lake and Porter county. Ask your BA why the new Menards in Schererville was build with non-local members? Lake county teamsters why was Scheply trucking out of Thornton working at Menards? The local BA's need to focus on maintaining work for their locals, rather than allowing out of state workers coming in and doing work here at a lower prevailing wage. How about Love's truck stop Demotte...completely non union! Keep worrying about signs here in Lake county and you will soon be like Elkhart county were unions are almost non existent. The Times should think about writing a piece on how the local unions are loosing their grip in northwest Indiana.
