IM very sorry to get so direct, I dont mean to but I saw what Dougie didnt to my son and there were teachers that went after him also. Thats not a school anymore its a prison. I was so proud I went to Morton and all the guys I work with in the auotomotive aftermarket went there. In fact they all tell my son how quiet I was and that my son is more mischievous like my wife who also went there. ALL my friends shake my sons hand and tell them all the stuff they did and they all get a good laugh. My son will never know MR.Snow or Mr Pensato ( who showed me how to weld) all those shops are GONE thanks to Dougie. MR. Snow even told me about how Dougie called Mr Snows wife at home and threated to have Snow arrested if he continued to remove his old engines after school hours. Again IM SORRY for being direct but all should know this admistrator need to go, then MAYBE Morton will be great again. Oh one more item , even after I graduated I GAVE all auto parts that Mr Snows class needed for at least 10 years becuase I knew the powers were trying to cut Snows funding. I did what I could to TRY to repay my debt to Snow for teaching me so much I never will be able to repay all those teachers (too many to name) that helped me be the man I am today.... and I think my son is `10 times smarter than Ill ever be

Yes the issue was Morton and thats what its mostly about. I guess you didnt read the article about "Jean Day" I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT. What would you have done if the pricipal stated on the morning announcments "BECAUSE OF A CERTAIN STUDENT JEAN DAY IS CANCELLED' which then my son recieved threatening text that many student stated they were gonna hurt "the kid bad" THEN in a meeting I showed ol Dougie the text (which I still have on my phone if you would care to see them) ol Dougie said " well theres nothing I can do about that he bought this on himself. The principal encouraged it How would you like it if a teacher or admistrator did this to your kid? HMMM yea they got there side so IF THEY WERE SO RIGHT WHY TO THIS DAY DO THEY STILL TALK ABOUT HOW MY SON TOOK THEIR MONEY? They got caught!!! If my son was so WRONG they why did the Indiana State attorney say on WJOB (the preachers show) that he would go to Morton and push for a free jean day and to inquire why my son was suspended for a day? Oh I have the recording of that show too if you care to listen. So Id say YOU DONT HAVE YOUR FACTS! Again WHY DID THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT call me on a SUNDAY YES I SAID SUNDAY to tell me he wanted to look into this. See your just one more of the sheep that the Hammond public school lead . You dont think for yourself. AGAIN , I would love to hear what you would do if it was your son that was threatened because of what an admistrator said on the morning announcments. One more thing ,yesterday my son attended that peace conference at Purdue. (its in the times today A4) he had students from Morton come up to him and shake his hand THANKING HIM for getting a free jean day and that they were SORRY to see him leave. Now again lets hear how wrong I was and how I have a problem with Morton. Ive said this a 100 times maybe more I WOULD HAVE LOVED MY SON TO GO TO MORTON MY WHOLE FAMILY GRADUATED FROM THERE. But when you take a GYM teacher and tell him to take some admistration classes then you make him a principal your just asking for trouble. Even as much as I dislike the principal I WOULD NEVER ENVOKE HARM ON HIS DAUGHTERS OR HIS FAMILY OR EVEN HIM. Hes not an admistrator hes a bully. Do it his way or suffer is his policy and THAT will be his downfall because the kids that he did bully will grow up some day and somehow I dont think they will be as nice as I was.

As the parent of this young man I and my family have been in Hammond and own a small business since 1937 . I guess I should say we were Hammond before you were a twinkle in your old mans eye. I myself went to Morton 1985 and have seen JUST EXACTLY what Hammond schools offer. My son was at Morton for a short time and because of politics with the staff I withdrew him. (SEE RAYMOND ANDERSON JEAN DAY. After reading that please know I was going to take the pricipal of Morton to court and the school city for incouraging violence against my son for getting jean day for free. I HAD A GOOD CASE AND WOULD HAVE WON. But my son was very upset over this and I thought it was best to get this freshmens life back to normal . Now, let me tell you about politics in the school board. After fighting the cancellation of Holloween parties I fought for it and turned the tide and got it back for all to enjoy. My next fight was to stop the building of school after school and sending property taxes sky high. I was told after the meeting by the pres of the school board (Hornack ) that I was only doing these things so I could run for school board (which never crossed my mind) and that I was waisting my time trying to stop the building. He went on to say and I'll quote here" You cant stop this , I cant stop this , NO ONE can these building have already been approved and the right people already got their money so , I suggest you stop before your family gets hurt!" I will never forget the look on his face when he said that. SO with that being said its time you stop saying how guilty HAST is because lets face it we all know everyone got a piece of the pie when it came to getting all those nice new schools built in Hammond. Also, my 4th grade teacher (me being 45) is still teaching and I went to a elementary school open house for my kids and just happen to see her. I asked her Mrs. ... is all this technology going to make smarter kids. She replied now Mr. Anderson you know I can talk bad about the school city of Hammond while Im on their property. Getting back to HAST my son said ITS NOT THE PERFECT SCHOOL !!! But its 10 times better than Morton with all its politics . Oh and lets talk about Morton getting a C from the state . HMMM well, Hess elementary get an F and Scott Mid gets and F but the God sent Savior Doug F gets it all together and gets a C. DONT TELL ME THOSE NUMBERS FROM MORTON AREN'T TWISTED AROUND. I also know for a fact ol Dougie was supposed to get fired from Morton but then all of a sudden he didnt. Could it be his dad may have had something to do with it. With all that money coming from jean day why did the school system tell Dougie to drop the 1.00 $ immediately . Could it be the money was going places it shouldnt have. NO that would never happen..... . Why , after I informed the state superintentdent of my sons story with Dougie I was called on a SUNDAY morning by him and was told the state was going to look very closely at Dougie and crew so the state could figure out where the money was going. In closing GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE, and do your homework as my son did. The school city of Hammond has got BIG problems and they know it. I suggest you speak with former teachers on how they were pushed out so Doug could get his followers into Morton.

This is what the writer was talking about. The state gave Hast an F because one of the requirements is graduations . Hast WONT have its first graduations untill next year. In fact the writer is one of the 70 students that will graduate. This school is like Morton High use to be in the 80s , common sense prevails at this school. The pricipal is really involved , unlike Morton its not run like a prison with cops all over the place. The kids are better there. They had some kind of granola bar sale for prom and they had a box with the bars in it and another box for the money (JUST SIITING THERE) and no one stole the money . WOW!!! A few weeks ago my daughter was with many students for an overnight lock in (slumber party) and that pricipal stayed up all night with those kids. Thats amazing!!

You guys have it all wrong the teachers are learning from the students from the eighties. Here is one of my stories as a former student. I remember having sex many times and I do mean many times in the large auditorium. It was always way up on top. I remember one time I was going at it doggie style and Mr. Safstrom walks out on stage and calls out " Hey is anybody up there I see movement" Since the mood was ruined I immediately removed my condom and flung it at him. Thankfully it didn't hit him, but just think some of the later students probably sat in one of the chairs I may have relieved myself on. I apologize to the janitors for the sticky situation. The students of Morton now are too busy worrying about whose feelings will get hurt and singing kumbaya. At 17 years old the girl probably is not a virgin anyway. In later years she will be able to brag on Facebook about how she did the nasty with the gym coach.
