- Until you do the job or float with the job for a weeks time, please refrain from any comments. In a nut shell, LC is in the red in a few columns, Food Service was not one of the them, they were in the black. They were an effecient department in the past. They decided to cut from the custodians column and have the food service gals/guys pick up the slack. So now the guys/gals are not only stocking your kids food, prepping your kids food, serving your kids food, accepting payment for your kids food, and cleaning the kitchen at the end of their work day...they are wiping the lunch tables between every lunch, sweeping the cafetaria floors between every lunch, taking out the trash between every lunch and mopping those floors...and, this is all done in a period of 3 3/4 hours to 4 hours...all at a lovely rate of $10.02 an hour with out a contract and with out any union representation. I don't want the same gal that is making my kids lunch taking out the trash from approximately 250 kids a lunch and then come back and make some more food for my kid...YUK! If they made the little darlings brown bag it, LC would lose even more money from the government. If kitchen Managers are getting raises, their butts better be in those kitchens/cafeterias doing their part. The people getting the raises should be the people doing the work!
