The Extreme Right would say Costas is too liberal spending tax payer money in keeping business and work within Valparaiso.
The Extreme Left would say that Costas should spend even more on bringing jobs and money to Valparaiso.
I am not sure which part you are upset over? I hope that this individual isn't considering taking his life over employment and/or the mayor and that he receives the help and love he needs.
Your comment is basically the epitome of the standard uniformed citizen of this area. Please reconsider your stance of playing the blame game without any real information.
While I haven't attended Ivy Tech it seems like a reasonably priced education compared to a lot of other for-profit schools in the area. Plus they offer transfer programs to state colleges.
While colleges like to promote their ability to place students post graduation, in your case you went to a trade school type program where generally, you should know what you are doing well enough to find a job on your own. Blaming the school system (and it's diversity?) doesn't really make sense. I personally know multiple people who've gone through the same program you did and found great jobs. They found these jobs by themselves, though.
Some people run more than a few miles and a trail just won't work. Running on the sidewalk in my experience has been much more dangerous because no one (me included) stops before the stop sign and when you cross the street you have a chance of ending up on someone's hood.
Running against traffic is the safest way but there are always risks. I like to think the risk of death are lower than not exercising though.
Try to be more understanding of runners/bikers. I know we can be an inconvenience at times and I am sorry for that but just because we aren't currently in a vehicle shouldn't mean we are below those that are currently in cars. We are just trying to stay healthy.
Runners: Run against traffic. Bikers: Obey traffic laws. Motorists: Be patient.
