I'd like to state three points regarding the endorsement of Dr. Bennett.

#1 - Dr. Bennett has based his opinion of Indiana's public schools on the performance of seven school districts, all of which are big city schools. The vast majority of schools throughout the state of Indiana do NOT have the problems of these schools. The attendance rate, parental support, value for education, lack of prekindergarten preparation, etc. in these corporations are the things that need changing. The greatest teacher in the world would struggle teaching children with these issues. He cannot legislate parents to improve their parenting which is the real problem in these corporations.

#2 - Check out the quality of education for the corporation that Dr. Bennett was in charge of before becoming Superintendent of Public Instruction. Not a glowing recommendation. Also, talk to his former staff about him and his leadership.

#3 - Dr. Bennett claims that there was no conflict of interest with his wife working for charter schools. How could there not be a conflict of interest? It was his wife's job to lobby for charter schools. Just an arrogant display of he is always correct and you should not question his actions.

For these reasons and others I will be voting for Ritz this election, even though I have been a Republican my entire life.
