  1. Sounds like no one has told you about the cold facts yet, OWLER...and that you need an update. The judge was able to determine from all the facts and testimonies that Nemcek, after initally walking past the group, could have continued walking vs turn around and state something in the manner of "you want a piece of me?" Nem-boy instead made the poor decision of turning around and thinking he could be big-and-bad with a knife his friends testified he had been showing off to them the whole night. The shortest boy in the group (approx 5'9" vs Nemcek's 6'4") was the only one injured by the knife...and he was "brutally" injured as well. I don't think the littlest guy in a group of three would be the first I'd be able to stab if I had two other big guys on me...nor can I say I'd be able to do the damage Nem-boy did with his stabbing (Doctor's reported that 11 different stab wounds were observed). What were the wounds Nem-boy had on him? One black-eye. Not quite what you'd expect to observe if someone told you they had been ganged-up on and beatin-up by 3 guys. Get the picture?

The media didn't do the best job covering this story...so don't just go by what you have read.

  2. If he handled himself just fine...Fast Ed...then what's he doing in jail right now and why are you suggesting a 4yr sentence? And what proof do you have that they were trying to "beat on him"? He'd have a few more bruises on his face than just one on his eye if there were a number of guys beating down on him, correct?

  3. The newspaper did not hide it…they just didn’t state that “both” sides had been drinking.

If Nemcek really had been ganged up on, by the 3 guys of the group, then there would have been more scrapes and bruises on him besides a single one on the eye (a single punch Kuhns stated he made in self-defense after Huseman had been stabbed and Nemcek was walking towards him and the rest of the group). Especially if he had a switchblade handy to use. The autopsy doctor also would not have discovered 3 different slashes to the liver, and a total of 11 different knife-cuts spread out in different locations.

Not sure how you can judge me as biased if I’ve never stated what I believed the ruling should have been. I actually agreed with the jury…and would definitely say I, someone who sat in for the trial all 7 days, do have more of an inside view on things than you…who just goes by what the paper says. The way The Times has written about this story has been very biased…and it seems like they’ve influenced your opinion pretty well.

  4. The defense's witnesses also testified that Nemcek had been drinking, as well, that night. His friends testified that he was showing off his new switchblade to them at the bars. His g/f stated that he bought the switchblade a few days before the incident occurred...meaning that his new switchblade had been on his mind throughout that night.

Hence is why you never want to trust newspaper articles to give you the full truth about the story....

  6. Were you ever at any of the trial hearings, Fast Ed? Seeing that you are a regular for commenting on articles in the NWI Times, I highly doubt you were...nor did I see you. Let me educate you that you lack a lot of knowledge about the whole case if you are only going by the newspaper articles. Your comments, therefore, lack a lot of knowledge and are not very credible nor respectful. Please try to be more respectful towards the family and friends of both sides of this trial.

  7. If Nemcek was only acting in self-defense, why did he toss the bloody-knife he used into a construction site...and his hoodie-sweater, containing blood, behind a dumpster?
