- Unfortunately with the passing of time comes the passing of part of the biggest attraction to this festival. The remaining living actors are just not able to come anymore. The festival as is was is not a viable option and the financing for it is by the wayside. However, enthusiasm for this story is not gone and has actually increased in recent years. We now have Wicked the outstanding musical based on the first novel in the The Wicked Years series. The fourth and final book was published from that in 2011. And out in theaters in March is "Oz The Great and Powerful" a brand new movie about the land that became Oz. So the audience is there, people just didn't pick up on the new paths of interest for this world. Find a tie-in to the novel series, the musical, or the new movie and the festival could live on.
