  1. AP students do not account for the majority. They are in fact the smallest minority. If they are AP they can handle it. If not, don't participate. We need to focus on the Majority. Including Lake County citizens and money we NEED for our schools.

  2. Yes really! It goes way further than a T-shirt with a sun on it. It means many business owners that do their majority of business in the summer month of let's say "August" won't have much business if the kids are back in school, AND if they are back at school year-round....

  3. We need to work together LAKE County and keep our summer economy up. More tax revenue = more money for our schools - which we absolutely NEED right now. Porter County schools know this, Crown Point knows this, why can't we stand up for our business owners who have a vested interest in this. We need to help them out!

  4. READ BETWEEN THE LINES
    Many people are not doing this. It is not about taking tests before winter break. It is not about AP tests at the end of the year. It is about a YEAR ROUND CALENDAR. Once you start pushing the date earlier and earlier in August, the next proposal will be to go year round. Be careful what you wish for, it might just come back and bite you!

  5. Sunfish- My daughter goes to school at Grimmer with your granddaughter. I have had numerous calls into your granddaughter's teacher about the way she treats the kids. I have no doubt in my mind that she was scared to go to her teacher because "IN MY OPINION" this teacher is also a bully of sorts. She has talked bad about my daughter behind her back to the class, and has taken situations out on my daughter because I have called her on it. I am so sorry this has happened. Many people don't realize the situation these children are put in. Not always can they trust and rely on their teachers.

  6. I too am a parent of a child who attends Grimmer. I have to say I am NOT impressed with some of the teachers, but MOST importantly the vice-principal. He does NOT need to be in an administrative position or dealing with children what-so-ever. It does not surprise me nothing drastic was done on this child's behalf. I am worried about my upcoming years at this school. I hope the school board reads these comments and truly does some "house-cleaning". Very disappointed with the entire situation......
