- I voted "yes" for the referendum in Crown Point. I even went out and helped put up signs supporting it. Now, our Superintendent, Teresa Eineman, received a $20,000 a year raise, while our teachers haven't had a raise in four years. Plus, their insurance has gone up. They are now taking home less pay than they did four years ago. If Eineman had any integrity, she would not have accepted a raise as long as our teachers weren't getting one. As a citizen of Crown Point, I feel deceived for voting yes.

- As a parent of several children in the Crown Point school system, I completely agree with you. I have nothing but the utmost respect for what teachers do for my children on a daily basis. I make sure my teachers know they are appreciated by me because they are not appreciated by this corporation or the state. I feel for Dr. Eineman to take a pay raise when our teachers are now taking home less money than they were in the past, shows a lack of integrity on her part. Does she work hard? Sure, but so do all the teachers I know. I feel deceived after voting yes for the referendum. Heck, I even went out and helped put up signs. If I had known that it would have been to pad Eineman's pocketbook, I would have changed my vote. If Eineman truly cared about this community, she would have declined a raise. She could have even taken a pay cut with as much as she makes. Did you know that her "retired" husband went around to several of the schools seeking donations to fund their daughter's $600 field trip. Asking for money from people that make way less than you is tacky and rude. She's lost my respect as well.
