- Since Wise Way in Hobart was taken over by Stracks I've noticed quite a rise in prices. Not only that - be sure to watch your register receipts because the cash registers are not programmed with the sale prices. I've heard from several people that when they check their receipts they were charged the regular price on sale items. Also, if Jeff Strack is reading these posts, and he should, he should talk to Jeff, the produce guy at Wise Way in Hobart, to see how to run and display a produce department. Jeff Strack should also get some of the deli girls at Stacks in Hobart to train the deli girls at Wise Way in Hobart on how to treat customers, they act like they are doing you a favor to wait on you. I rarely go to the deli because I don't want to deal with the crabs behind the counter. However, I do the majority of my shopping at Aldi in Portage, you can't beat the prices and their produce, although a limited variety, is far superior to Stracks.

- What the article does not mention is that when the woman at Joan Martin collapsed, the ambulance at the nearby fire station was out on a call, the firefighters/EMT who were on duty at the house ran on foot to the school to assist the woman who collapsed. That is not the kind of service Hobart would get with a private ambulance firm. You might save a few bucks, but you would certainly not save more lives. Some things you cannot put a price on.

- If Hobart wants to save money, why don't they take away some of the perks that the police department gets? Taking squad cars home, joyriding on their off time and using gas that the taxpayers provide, wearing their uniforms when they are doing security work (a second job), etc. I don't understand why when cuts are proposed, they nevert impact the police department, but almost always the fire department. And to the poster who implicated that the firefighters have huge salaries, you are VERY misinformed.

- The smoking ban did kill their business. It was one of the few places where you could go and smoke after your meal - in the bar area only - the dining room was smoke free. After they went totally smoke free it was dead in there. Why does it have have to be all or nothing? Like it or not, smoking is not going to go away, and smokers' money is as good as any one else's. There are plenty of restaurants that are totally smoke free, why can't the smokers have one or two restaurants to patronize? I feel bad for Annie, Marilyn and Tina, the were the best servers in the area.

- Hate to break it to you tiretrax, but President Obama has deported more illegal immigrants than any president in recent history. I am a staunch Liberal and I do not agree with this legislation, so stop telling me how I, as a Liberal, think about things. And what is so bad about being a Liberal? I guess granting women the right to vote, the GI Bill, etc., are things that you would like to repeal. Yes, some one does have a mental disorder and that person is who you see in the mirror.
