  1. Cruise control with no one behind the wheel!
March 08, 2013 8:10 pm on Conservative group to demand lawmakers approve Pence income tax cut
  2. I would have to agree with the legislature. After Mitch and major moves blew through $3.8 B by top coating and chip sealing our roads, look at them now after one winter! It's disguting what he did to get re-elected to his second term. And speaking of taxes, isn't the GOP mantra, "no new taxes"? What was that sales tax hike? I agree with earlier posts that call for reducing it back to 5%.

  3. If my memory serves me right, before a casino could build, a referendum had to be passed. The reason those host communities received the larger share was because of the extra and enhanced services they would have to offer because of the drawbacks that are associated with gaming. Why on earth do any communities who do not host a casino receive any funds at all? Unfortunately it all comes down to greedy politics again. Most casinos landed in liberal, democratic strongholds. Admit it! Don't blame the cities and counties who allowed gaming, Expand it to include more communities if they want that source of income. Indiana, if controlled correctly, could become the Las Vegas of the midwest. Allow casinos every 100 miles on I 65 the lenght of the state and all of our money woes would go away! Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot..."not in my back yard".

  4. Ten intelligent people understand that our constitution has, to this point, stood the test of time. Tampering with the state constitution may seem like a good thing at the moment, but may cause irreperible damage to future generations, by tying their hands on issues that you may feel are politically relevant today. Future generations may look back and think how foolishly selfish you were. If this law passes, the legislature should reclaim all of the fertile farmland that corporations have swindled away from hoosiers families through eminant domaim and return it to its rightful ownes, hoosiers who live in this state. As far as hunting and fishing... unless you plan to hunt people, you will never lose that right.
February 11, 2013 8:48 pm on Senate OKs changing constitution to add right to hunt, fish, farm
  5. What is it about the contemporary Republican that makes them want to tinker with our State Constitution? Leave it alone, pass your stupid laws ( because you have the majority right now), BUT LEAVE MY CONSTITUTION ALONE!
February 04, 2013 9:03 pm on Senate panel OKs constitutional amendment protecting hunting, fishing, farming
  6. The line from Forest Gump said it best..."Stupid is as stupid does". Our Governor and legislature is just worried about our children fleeing the state to find better jobs with the education they received here. Well we won't have to worry about that anymore, they are paving the way for a new generation of stupid! "You say you're from Indiana? Don't let the door hit you on the way out!"
January 21, 2013 2:24 pm on Bill would remove Indiana from national academic standards
  7. Prove creationism or you should resign Mr. Kruse!
December 04, 2012 10:21 pm on Indiana senator's plan to teach creationism evolves
  8. Now that the majority of voters gave them the nod, we'll see how the GOP handles the power vested in them. It won't be pretty for NWI. They haven't even started their new term yet and look at them conniving to find ways to hurt the region, one of the biggest economic engines in the state. It must be disheartening to be a republican in NWI, knowing you're going to get the shaft just as bad as the Dems just because of where you live. Ouch, that's gotta hurt! I can't say that I remember a time when Dem's were in charge and would purposely hurt a whole region because of philasophical differences.

  9. Sorry Joe for that last comment, I meant Senator. I am proud that you are my currently my Congressman!

  10. The problem isn't that he was misunderstood, he was very much understood and for that comment, is the most talked about candidate in the country. He is mentioned in the same breath with the presidential candidate of his party almost exclusively. Most candidates could only dream of that kind of press, almost like Todd Akin. He really put Indiana on the map with that comment. I don't think, with 2 weeks to go, that anyone will be able top that. With that comment and his view of non partisanship I will have to say thank you Mr Mourdock and say congratulations Joe my next congressman.
