I was just made aware of a sitution whereas the Portage Police arrested a mentally challeged person who was with a group of his/her peers shopping and shoplifted at a local establishment. Seeing this person was on a group trip with his/her peers they were all taken into the station for the processing/arrest of this person. However, one of the disabled peers if not others as well, were handcuffed while waiting for family members to pick them up. Apauling! As I understand it these mentally challenged people were all very frightened and confused as to why they were being handcuffed.and the whole process itself. Portage officers in command should be ashamed of themselves and beg the families involved for forgiveness..... PUBLICLY!!!

Now if only we could cut the Section 8 program.....that being cut would save the city a lot of money!!!

Out of 430 times the police stopped someone looking for impaired drivers...... 38 are found to be impaired. Hummmmm.....sounds as though the man hours could have been better spent than on this project. Maybe focusing on the crime in the area would have been a better focus for law enforcement and tax payer dollars
