  1. You might think that background checks are a sensible solution to gun violence, but in fact it has little or no effect on shootings. In reference to shooters Lanza, Cho, Holmes, and Loufner, The only one that didn't undergo a background check was Lanza. His mother bought all of the firearms used in the Newtown shooting. Cho, Holmes and Loufner ALL UNDER WENT BACKGROUND CHECKS and legally purchased their weapons. Background checks proved worthless. This is one of the problems with the background check system. It is not complete and does not include the mentally Ill. Cho, Holmes, and Loufner all were mentally ill, but no one did anything about it until after the shootings. Then the media and law enforcement scrutinized their records. VP Biden even admitted that all of the recommendations that his commission received would do nothing to prevent anymore shootings. As far as having a trained, armed person being in schools, there are many schools that already have security personnel in their buildings. This is nothing new, but to the LEFT it is a travesty. If someone with a gun breaks into your school, do you care if he had a background check or are you wishing a "good guy" with a gun would show up? The students and teachers in school deserve to have the "good guys" in their schools. Background checks don't mean much when you are facing a criminal with a gun.

  2. Exactly what did you expect from a LIBERAL THINK TANK study? Do you not think that they skewed a lot of the data to fit their agenda? Look next door at Chicago and then tell me what your thoughts are. Chicago bans handguns and kills more people every year than all of Northwest Indiana combined.

Check out this report by ABC TV13 from Indianapolis to see how illegals are ripping off the taxpayers of this country by filing fraudulent tax returns claiming dependents in Mexico that aren't even their children. The IRS refuses to do anything about it. If we citizens did this, they would put us in jail.
