Schaap didn't wake up one day & decide he would use "counseling" to sate his base desires. This was something that he observed first hand how the man in power could subvert scripture, pollute his employees' minds, & take whatever he wanted, however he wanted.
I find it laughable that youth groups were not allowed to play card games on the old FBC tour bus because with the church's name on the side, onlookers wouldn't know if they were UNO cards or playing cards. The same man who made this "avoid appearance of evil" ruling allowed a hidden doorway between HIS office & that of his mistress.
Many, many senior people in the church & college left over issues with the brother-in-law in the early 1980's & further charges were laid in the late 1980s about the father-in-law & one particular woman.
I've seen friends & family separate over the leadership of this church. I myself have reduced my time spent with family over the leadership & the culture they nurture in their twisted minds.
Many who know WAY more than might be safe for them professionally or personally have swallowed their tongues & sat on their hands while wolves-in-sheep's-clothing have ravaged the flock, taking their carnal nature out on the most susceptible in the congregation.
I know many of the congregants are honest, God-fearing, Bible-believing folks; my immediate family among them. But too many have had a glimpse behind the curtain of the IFB "Oz" & NOT pulled the curtain aside to allow sunlight (or SON-light, if you prefer) chase away, cleanse, & burn out the vile corruption that is so prevalent at the "Old Church Downtown" on Sibley Blvd.
If JS "arranged" for the victim to be "transported" for purposes of sex, are any of those who drove the victim also being investigated &/or charged?
The words of JS's sister-in-law keep repeating in my mind "my father was a cult leader."
