- I have a question and I am not a farmer so I need a little help here. How does the Government (through Eminent Domain) put a price on farmland?? Arent these farms passed down from generation to generation and the money that is generated from the crops vary from year to year???...You are not just talking about the appraisal of a home. You would be taking away something that was passed on to you by your Parents and they by their Parents etc. Arent you talking about a dollar value that would be a "generation value" as opposed to "market value" on acreage?? And to say it would alleviate traffic? How will you put 40,000+ more vehicles onto a 2 LANE I-65 ?!! If you want to create jobs then why not widen I-65 before wanting to build another Expressway that would dump more vehicles onto an already congested Expressway....
