- This type of story is heard too often. When will mothers learn not to leave their children with boyfriends? Unstable boyfriends that aren't the childrens natural father will see the children as a "reminder" of an ex-boyfriend or ex-husband. Jealous boyfriends can take their anger out on a poor, defenseless child. Wake up mothers!

- Agreed RyBro - and just so everyone understands, the proposed development is not in my back yard, but I am worried about the impact to our schools and the high number of apartments being proposed in our area. kam1303's comment regarding property values is off base. If I had the choice to purchase the same home with or without apartments in my back yard, the choice would be obvious. This would lead to home sellers (near the apartments) of having to make the difficult choice of reducing the selling price of their home to make their home more appealing to buyers.

- Another issue to think about: How are they going to have enough money to maintain the landscaping and structures when they can't find renters to fill these "luxury" apartments. We don't need another "Natural Ovens" eyesore!

- Mental Illness is responsible for a percentage of our homeless which can happen after they have lead fruitful, hardworking lives and have paid taxes in just like everyone else. Unfortunately, some of them don't know how to help themselves or cannot rationalize why they should accept help. I will not be quick to judge our homeless as I'm sure many them were in our shoes at some point, thinking it could never happen to them. Are you sure it could never happen to you?

- Thank you! The same thing happened to me and I'm also north of 40. As a victim you do feel shame and are afraid to tell anyone. Looking back though, I wish I would have told someone. Victims need to know it's not their fault and to tell a parent, a teacher, anyone you trust until somebody listens to you!
